* I take a walk outside—walking outdoors, whether around my neighborhood or in a local forest preserve, often helps me see things in a different light.
* I journal with pen and paper. If I’m having trouble getting inside a character, writing a journal entry from their point of view can provide fresh insights.
* I “sleep on it.” This may sound cliché, but if I’m struggling with a problem, whether in my life or in a piece of writing, getting a good night’s sleep often leads to the solution.
