Mizuta Masahide lived from 1657–1723. He practiced medicine and was a samurai in the Zeze domain of Ohmi Province. Mizuta was a student of the famous poet Bashō. In 1688, Mizuta wrote his most famous haiku, which is featured in IMPERFECT II.
